So I have tried out like 20-30 different headsets now and they all had some flaws and faults that made me not use them.

But this Friday I got my hands on Plantronics Blackwire C420-M that is a good looking headset designed and optimized for Office Communicator.

What mostly differs from the other Plantronic headsets I we had is that it’s a brand new design and it really looks as good as it sounds. And best of all, the audio quality when listening to music is really good. And what you see on the picture is what you got. If you have seen some of the previous models of OCS certified headsets from Plantronics they had a big rock or something attached to the cable, but that is now history.

Pricing is not so bad either and its listed as $89.95

Selfhosted WordPress

I've been having a problem with WordPress and it seems to be caused by
wincache. Several others have reported the same problem on the
Wordpress.com forums

What happens is when attempting to upgrade a WordPress
plugin, the upgrade fails with a message similar to this -

Unpacking the update.
Installing the latest version.
Deactivating the plugin.
Removing the old version of the plugin.
Could not create directory.
DIRECTORY\wwwroot/wp-content/plugins/akismet/
Plugin upgrade Failed.

FIX:

Just set wincache.fcndetect=0 in your php.ini file.

I really like the idea and I hope that Google voice will transform UCOMS but I got a hard time seeing it as a enterprise product. And in the long term this is why… Winking smile

Save hours: Exchange 2010 can not create new database

I got a fresh installed Exchange 2010 and I just wanted to add one more database. I could do Everything else but when adding a database I got the error:

Active Directory operation failed on bdc3.propel.com. This error is not retriable. Additional information: Access is denied.
Active directory response: 00000005: SecErr: DSID-03151E04, problem 4003 (INSUFF_ACCESS_RIGHTS), data 0
The user has insufficient access rights.

The solution was simple after an hour on google and in the forums.

Just re-run the setup with /preparedomain and it will solve the problem.

Or actually it created the database just fine, but didn’t mount it.. So just wait a few minutes and then try again and it will mount.

#OCS & Public IM federation just got a little better.

Well not really if your using OCS but, for the ones that got CS14 up and running you can now download the beta of Live Messenger and have Video calls from Communicator to Live messenger.

I’m not sure if it will work right away but this is going to be cool later on when Kinnect gets out to the X360 and later on when Windows Phone 7 comes out with its FaceTime killer Winking smile

The three screens vision will then be complete.
