Microsoft Lync 2010 mobile are coming to Symbian – #Lync

In a Nokia press release from today Nokia and Microsoft details its partnership a bit more.

The interesting thing here is that Lync will be made available for anyone buying a new Symbian Belle device.

One thing that got my attention is the description of the Lync client is the part in bold “Microsoft® Lync™ 2010 Mobile – for cost efficient IM, presence, audio and web meetings on-the-go.”

Lync Buddy drivers uploaded to codeplex – #Lync

I’m not so good at coding so I would be happy if someone that is wanted to help out and taking the project further. I we uploaded the source to codeplex and a working exe that needs to be run in the background together with Lync to capture presence.

Well go get yourself an iBuddy and try it out.

Show you Presence to your colleagues so that they know when to talk to you and when to just let you stay alone under your oak tree.

This is an I-Buddy that a friend hacked to work with Microsoft Lync 2010. And i am now working on some fine tuning for it.

Its still in beta but if you run off to buy one make sure it’s the blue green one and send me a message and ill send the drivers and program to get it working with Lync.

Ultimate Communications Store

image

I know how hard it is to get my customers to use Certified devices and one of the reasons is that they are hard to find, there is the Phones and Devices Qualified for Microsoft Lync on microsoft.com that is the reference for the program, but the end users never find that page.

So I created some Amazon listmania! lists and an aStore connected to them, with all the Lync certified devices.

So from now on http://www.ultimate-communications.com/store  is your one stop shop for Optimized Lync devices.

Optimized for Microsoft Lync – this wordmark indicates that a communications device will provide a high quality user experience, with”just works” installation, rich audio and video, and a lower total cost of ownership.
