Its now possible to use GoToMeeting integration from the Lync 2010 client (since this is client side integration it should also work just fine with Lync Online / Office 365). To initiate a Meet Now session simply install the latest version of the GoToMeeting client.
Then just right click and choose GoToMeeting
Im not sure of what I think of this yet, its like CUCILync but for meetings, but in general im pro to have options so I guess its good. Like in a scenario where you run Lync fully internally but one particular customer of yours runs their meetings in gotomeeting, well why not use this sort of integration then?
I found that a bit funny, especially when OCS now have the Desktop Sharing feature, its not entirely fair to put them up for a fight since in my eyes they don’t really do the same thing. But if you used to collaborate or have support sessions in Citrix Go To Assist before and now have OCS installed, i encourage you to try the Desktop Sharing feature instead. Its a great feature to use when giving support or when working together on a document or for whatever you use to do in the office when you have to look at someone’s screen. I even think you can be more creative with it then if you sit together in a conference room. Since in the DS case you are not bound to sit in a room and look at someone’s screen, you can now sit anywhere and still get the job done.
