Now when people are starting to rolling out Lync in a large scale, there are some things to keep in mind.
Microsoft really did a great job on making everything really easy but there are some things to keep in mind. One of those things might be to have an Communicator Web Access 2007 R2 server next to your Lync.
You might wonder why? But its not for sending IMs via the browser since this is done directly in Outlook Web App now.
Its for those iOS clients and Nokia phones and Androids and stuff like that that connects via the web interface of the CWA role.
And the thing to keep in mind here is that you MUST extend 2007 R2 schema before Lync schema if you wish to do CWA R2.
