Note to self: remember the port when manual configure, remember the port…

This one will be quik…

I configured my client against the customer I’m working on manually and bong it did not work, automatic worked fine and manual said that i could not find the internal server in my event log, duuh I’m external and want to connect to the external server but the event viewer did not say anything about that.

Well the Communicator log said something like this “connection failed error 80072745”

And google reminded me that i have to put the port in when manually configure the external server. so it should look something like sip.externalserver.com:443

OCS File transfers

Today was a great day – I learned something.

Curtis Johnstone have a blog i like to read and today’s topic was about file transfers in OCS, that always tend to be a bit problematic.

So check it out OCS File Transfers – Key Facts & Common Cures

How to broadcast a message from OCS console

Anderson Patricio writes in his blog about how to broadcast a message from OCS console, please look at his original blogpost to give credits to him.

But i steal the good stuff for my reference.

The first step is to make sure that the user belongs to the RTCUniversalServerAdmins group.

Second step is to open the command promtp and go to “C:\Program Files\Common Files\Microsoft Office Communications Server 2007 R2” folder and run the following syntax and hit enter.

LCScmd /Server /Action:BroadcastMessage /Role:SE /Message:"Type  your message here"

Done, all logged in users will receive the message.
