A pretty useful tool is hidden under the hood of the admin portal in Office 365.
And many people in the forums seems to misconfigure some of the not so common SRV and TXT records for their vanity domain in Office 365. so this will be a quick guide on how to verify that you have configured your DNS settings correctly for Office 365.
First log in to the portal and go to the Domains tab.
You should now see your domain and from here there are two ways forward. First is to click the domain and the second is to click on active.
We will start backwards and select Active.
This will take you to a Configure domain page
Just click next and this will take you to the page where you can se what DNS records should be set up for your services.
But I said there was a hidden tool to verify that i we done it as I should?
Well go back to the domains start page (by clicking Cancel or just the Domains tab again) and click on the domain name instead this time will lead you to it.
Opening the domain should look something similar to this. Notice that there is a Troubleshoot domain button to click.
Well try that out and that will lead you to the tool I’m talking about.
Make sure that you select the “I changed the settings at my provider more than 72 hours ago.” radio button, and then click next
(Well oops in Swedish we call this “Skomakarens Barn” the shoemaker’s children wear broken shoes.. )
